Cancer is a leading cause of mortality in the world causing the death of 158 persons per 100,000 whereas 445 out of 100,000 persons in the world are diagnosed by Cancer every year. Approximately more than 35% of cancer victims have to die due to unknown cause of disease and diagnosis at late stage. Pakistan is also facing such a kind of high mortality due to cancer as in 2020 only, 117,149 deaths occur as per the statistics reported by GLOBOCAN of International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Collective Cancer Registry of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Center (SKMCH&RC), Pakistan. Understanding the Cancer mortality will helps us to understand the in-depth of Cancer burden in society so that a proper legislation should be made to reduce the mortality and enhance the efficiency of Cancer control. This report discus in details about the Cancer mortality in Pakistan and its comparison with the world based on the available data by authentic data registries.
